Durcan: Donegal have moved on from 'Bitegate'
Goalkeeper Paul Durcan says Donegal have moved on from the 'Bitegate' incident.
Last week Dublin defender Kevin O'Brien escaped sanction having been accused of alleged biting Donegal's Paddy McBrearty during the league meeting between the sides in Ballybofey last month.
Speaking at last night's Ulster Championship launch Durcan says the incident overshadowed a decent game of football between the sides.
"It was a good game of football, Dublin were flying and their forwards were quick," he said.
"Our boys had a tough time handling them and it was disappointing in the end that Paul Mannion got that last point."
Durcan says the Tir Chonaill men are now fully focused on their Ulster Championship date with Tyrone on Sunday, May 26.
"We have moved on from the incident, and there's only one thing in our minds now and that is getting a good performance against Tyrone and I'm really looking forward to it," admitted the experienced net minder.
Durcan says there is no better place to begin the defence of Donegal's Ulster and All-Ireland crowns than on home turf at MacCumhaill Park.
Jim McGuinness' charges will take on the Red Hands at the Ballybofey venue, with the capacity capped at 18,000.
1,000 tickets were sold online in an hour yesterday, and Durcan is hoping for a special atmosphere.
"It's your own home pitch and fingers crossed that it is a sell-out. It makes it a memorable occasion for anyone that is able to get to it."
