Condon doubtful for Limerick's quarter-final

Defender Tom Condon is Limerick's main injury worry ahead of their All-Ireland SHC quarter-final clash with Kilkenny on Sunday.

The corner back sustained a knee injury during the qualifier win over Clare and has not been able to train fully since.

Manager John Allen told the Limerick Leader that they are adopting a 'wait and see' approach regarding Condon's fitness.

"He did a small bit of light jogging at training last weekend, but that was all," admitted Allen.

Seamus Hickey is standing by to replace Condon. If he does so, it will be his first start of the year at corner back, while Championship newcomer Shane O'Neill is another option.

Conor Allis and Paul Browne have both returned to training after spells out with injury and could bolster the Shannonsiders' bench, but Thomas O'Brien broke his ankle playing for Patrickswell recently and is a definite absentee.

Commenting on Allis and Browne, Allen added: "We are confident that they will play a role at this stage. The mood is very good - all is positive.

"I am confident that we can get a performance that will reflect the hard work and dedication that all the players have shown."
