Laois team unchanged despite injury concerns

For Saturday's Leinster SHC quarter-final against Dublin, the Laois hurlers are unchanged from the side which beat Carlow a fortnight ago.

For Saturday's Leinster SHC quarter-final against Dublin, the Laois hurlers are unchanged from the side which beat Carlow a fortnight ago.

This is despite a string of injury concerns for Laois manager Teddy McCarthy who has been dealt a brace of blows in both defence and attack.

Goalkeeper Eoin Reilly is recovering from a hamstring tear suffered in the win over Carlow, while former goalkeeper turned corner back Patrick Mullaney will undergo an operation this morning for a hand injury.

The Castletown clubman picked up the knock during last month's Division 1B clash with Antrim, but has played through the pain barrier since.

Also on the treatment table this morning is half-forward Sean Bourke who will get pins put in his hand at a Tullamore clinic.

The Harps clubman suffered a thumb injury on Tuesday night and is likely to be out for up to six weeks, having only recently returned to full fitness.

Also in the Laois attack, IT Carlow student Neil Foyle is still a doubt for this weekend's game at O'Connor Park (throw-in 5pm).

Foyle has been been named to start at full-forward against the Dubs, with McCarthy hoping he can recover in time from a fractured finger.

LAOIS (SHC v Dublin): Eoin Reilly; Canice Coonan, Darren Maher, Gearoid Burke; Conor Dunne, Matthew Whelan, Mick McEvoy; James Walsh, Shane Hanlon; Stephen Maher, Brian Dunne, Willie Hyland; Tommy Fitzgerald, Neil Foyle, David O'Mahoney.
