Cummins wins fifth Poc Fada title
Tipperary goalkeeper Brendan Cummins conquered the Annaverna Mountain in Louth for the fifth time since 2004 as he was crowned the M Donnelly All-Ireland Poc Fada champion.
Cummins completed the course in 50 pocs, beating last year's winner Graham Clarke of Down who finished behind him in second place.
The 36-year-old Premier County star won his first Poc Fada title in 2004 and was also victorious in 2006, 2007 and 2008.
He also triumphed in today's Comortas Beirte (Pairs) competition with Down's Karol Keating in 109 pocs. Wexford's Mark Butler and the aforementioned Clarke came second with 111 pocs, and Tadhg Haran of Galway and James McGarry of Kilkenny were third overall (114 pocs).
Meanwhile, Waterford's Patricia Jackman gained a record three in-a-row of Camogie Poc Fada titles. She matched her 28-poc tally from last year. Offaly's Cillian Kiely was the winner of the Under-16 event with 24 pocs.
