Skipper Murphy in the mix for Donegal

Donegal captain Michael Murphy is fighting fit again after recovering from an infection in his leg which forced him to be hospitalised.

Almost two weeks ago, Murphy had to be admitted to Letterkenny General Hospital to have the infection treated. He resumed training last week and is on course to lead Donegal in next Sunday's Ulster SFC quarter-final against Cavan.

Rory Kavanagh and Michael Hegarty are also in contention to start having shaken off knocks, but Frank McGlynn, who injured his hamstring in training, and Neil Gallagher, who has a groin strain, remain doubtful.

The returning Leo McLoone is not expected to feature at Kingspan Breffni Park this weekend. The centre-back trained with the Donegal panel in Letterkenny last Saturday, but the match has come too soon for a player who broke and dislocated his ankle in early March.

Apart from internal training matches, Jim McGuinness' men have warmed up for the Cavan clash with a 4-17 to 1-11 challenge game win over Leitrim and they also beat Mayo by two points last Thursday.
