Croke Park to host Kilkenny-Dublin League final

The much-anticipated Allianz Hurling League Division 1 final between Kilkenny and Dublin will be held at Croke Park on Sunday, May 1, it has been confirmed.

The all-Leinster decider, which is a repeat of this year's Walsh Cup final, will be the headline act on a bumper Sunday at GAA headquarters.

The Cadbury All-Ireland Under-21 Football Championship final between Cavan and Galway will act as the curtain raiser at 2pm, with the senior hurlers of Kilkenny and Dublin clashing at 4pm.

Kilkenny and Dublin have already met twice this year, with the Dubs claiming a 2-17 to 2-13 win in February's Walsh Cup final. The sides also played out a 1-17 to 3-11 draw in the league at Croke Park earlier this month.

The Cats are gunning for their second Division 1 title in three years, while Dublin have not been crowned league champions since 1939.

Meanwhile, the Allianz Hurling League Division 2 final between Limerick and Clare has been scheduled for Cusack Park in Ennis on Saturday, April 30 (throw-in 7pm).

Clare gained home advantage for the final after the counties agreed to toss for the venue.

The winners of the Munster derby will gain promotion to the top flight for next year, replacing Offaly. Clare lost to Wexford (1-16 to 2-09) in last year's Division 2 decider.
