Clancy named as Laois selector
Former Galway forward Paul Clancy has come on board as a selector for the Laois senior footballers, linking up with recently-appointed manager Justin McNulty.
Clancy's most recent management experience has been with DIT in the Sigerson Cup, and he also helped them win the All-Ireland Freshers Championship last year.
As a player, he won the All-Ireland SFC title with Galway in 2001, kicking two points from wing forward as the Tribesmen beat Meath in the final.
The Moycullen clubman, who works in Dublin for the ESB, joins strength & conditioning coach Barry Solan as the first two members of McNulty's backroom team. A local selector is due to be appointed shortly.
Speaking to the Leinster Express, McNulty said: "I searched long and hard for someone who I feel could add something to Laois.
"I talked to a lot of people and I'm happy that Paul can come on board and add a lot to the set-up."
