Decision time looming for McEnaney
Seamus McEnaney's future as Monaghan senior football manager is still uncertain, following last night's meeting of the Monaghan GAA County Executive at the Truagh Gaels GAA complex.
The meeting took place 24 hours later than it was originally scheduled for, 'solely because of team management' related issues.
However, while McEnaney has still to commit to another season at the helm, he has the full backing of the County Executive for next Monday's County Board meeting.
McEnaney is weighing up whether to stay on for a seventh year. The 2010 Championship saw his Monaghan side claim impressive Ulster SFC wins over Armagh and Fermanagh, but their run was ended in the fourth round of the All-Ireland qualifiers by Kildare.
The Farney men's dream of a first Ulster SFC title in 22 years was shattered by Tyrone, before they suffered a second defeat in six days at the hands of the Lilywhites, with injuries playing their part.
McEnaney's six seasons in charge of Monaghan have produced mixed fortunes, but the Corduff native has seen his charges reach two Ulster finals and a NFL Division 2 final and retain their Division 1 status for next year.
It is unclear, as of yet, if the man they call 'Banty' will opt to continue in the role and strive for that elusive Anglo-Celt Cup win.
