One change for Louth

Centre back Mick Fanning is expected to line out for Louth in tomorrow evening's All-Ireland SFC fourth round qualifier against Dublin.

Fanning sustained a shoulder injury in the controversial Leinster final defeat to Meath, but is on course to prove his fitness and face the Dubs for the 5pm throw-in.

The selected Louth side shows just one change from the Meath game, with defender Ronan Greene losing out to Stephen Fitzpatrick, the son of manager Peter Fitzpatrick.

Fitzpatrick will start his first Championship match at left half-back, having impressed as a first half substitute in the provincial decider.

Louth have a poor record against Dublin in Championship football, their only victory in the sides' last 13 SFC meetings being a Leinster final round replay win in Navan in 1973.

However, Fitzpatrick's current crop had their confidence boosted by that memorable Leinster run and they did beat a youthful Dublin side, which included talismanic forward Bernard Brogan, in a challenge match - 3-16 to 1-9 - earlier this year.

Hoping to guide his county through to the All-Ireland quarter-finals for the first time, the Louth boss said: "It's a glamour tie, back at Croke Park again, and we see it as a great opportunity to get back to winning ways.

"(The Leinster final) is gone. They're grown men and they have to concentrate on the next game. We're just happy to get back playing football.

"They'll get no sympathy votes from anyone, so they have to pick themselves up and get on with it.

"We don't mind playing at Croke Park, we don't mind playing Dublin. The safety net is gone now. Every game is a knock-out. It's a 50-50 game and we will do our best."

LOUTH (SFC v Dublin): N Gallagher; E McAuley, D Finnegan, J O'Brien; R Finnegan, M Fanning, S Fitzpatrick; P Keenan (capt), B White; A Reid, A McDonnell, B Brennan; C Judge, S Lennon, JP Rooney.
