Monaghan duo opt out of football squad

Damien Freeman and Gary McQuaid have opted out of the Monaghan Senior Football squad for this year.

McQuaid had revealed he wanted to end his current involvement with Seamus McEnaney's side at the weekend, as he is currently out of work.

It is understood that Freeman is also opting out for similar reasons.

Both players failed to feature in Monaghan's one-point victory over Tyrone at Inniskeen on Sunday last.

Monaghan travel to Parnell Park this Saturday to face Dublin under floodlights at 7.30pm.
