Kerry footballer Paul Galvin has failed to get his eight-week suspension overturned after the GAA's Central Hearings Committee (CHC) met yesterday.

The CHC informed the Kerry County Board of the outcome late last night, with Kingdom Chairman Jerome Conway already indicating that Galvin will not appeal the decision.

The Finuge schoolteacher will now miss four of Kerry's remaining five league games, and will not be available until the final league fixture against Monaghan in April.

Galvin received that ban after an off-the-ball altercation with Cork defender Eoin Cadogan during their Round 1 NFL clash at Pairc Ui Rinn over a fortnight ago.

Both Galvin and Cadogan received red cards for the incident, with Cadogan handed a four-week ban which still stands.
