Cooney hopeful of GPA agreement

GAA President Christy Cooney is hopeful that planned talks with the Gaelic Players Association can be successfully completed by the end of September.

The two organisations have yet to hold face-to-face talks to discuss a number of issues including official recognition for the players’ group and a system of continuing the intercounty grants payment scheme which looks destined to be slashed by government cuts.
