Three seniors in Galway Under-21 team

Senior squad members Joe Canning, James Skehill and Eoin Forde have been included in Galway's starting 15 for tomorrow's Bord Gais Energy All-Ireland Under-21 Hurling Championship semi-final against Clare at Semple Stadium (throw-in 2.30pm).

Canning has been pencilled in at full-forward, Skehill is between the posts and Forde will start at left half-forward. The team also includes Aidan Harte at centre-forward.

Galway are bidding to reach the final for the first time since they won the title in 2007, and they will face either Kilkenny or Antrim if they progress this weekend.

Speaking to the Galway Independent, team manager Anthony Cunningham said: "We are really looking forward to the semi-final. We have been training and getting ready all year and championship fever is really kicking in now.

"With this being Clare's third match and our first we are at a disadvantage, but we have trained very hard and the lads are mad to learn.

"Hopefully we will have a good day on Saturday."
