Monaghan take down Ulster rivals

Seamus McEnaney’s Monaghan made the trip to Brewster Park, Enniskillen worthwhile registering a well-earned five-point win over the hosts in NFL Division 2

Despite Fermanagh making the best possible start after Enda Ferris rattled home a first minute goal, the hosts failed to make their early dominance count throughout this game.

Monaghan rallied strongly thanks to a goal from half-back Conor McManus to level the tie.

Despite yellow cards for Dessie Mone and Damien Kelly before the interval, the visitors continued to press hard before the break and led by 1-07 to 1-04 at half-time.

A second half penalty goal from Thomas Freeman set the visitors on the road to victory.
