Tipp ready to upset Limerick on Sunday

They might be perceived by some as the whipping boys of the Munster Senior Football Championship, but an outing against Limerick on Sunday is not as daunting as it once was for the blue and gold.

The last time the sides met was in 2004 when Limerick, managed by Liam Kearns were at the peak during a successful three year period when they came so close to lifting the Munster title on a number of occasions.

Tipp now with Kerryman John Evans at the helm are in the mood to upset Limerick's summer plans and he is someone who knows about claiming top honours.

The former manager of the Kerry U-21s and also led Laune Rangers to All-Ireland club glory in 1996 and is starting only three players from the premier team that lost to Cork in last year's Munster championship.

Tipperary reached the final of Division Four in the National Football League this year, while Limerick struggled to avoid relegation from Division Three, all of which makes Evans more optimistic about this weekend.
