Deane could return for Galway clash
Cork’s squad for next Sunday’s NHL semi-final with Galway could be bolstered by the return of Ronan Curran, Jerry O’Connor and Joe Deane.
Deane will definitely in the equation and depending on medical assessment, Curran and O’Connor could be involved.
However, Neil Ronan, Pa Cronin and Kieran ‘Fraggy’ Murphy won’t feature because of injuries and there are doubts over Timmy McCarthy and Brian Murphy.
The Cork team will be announced tonight after training for the penultimate league hurdle.
Newcomers Eoin Cadogan and Brian Corry should get the nod again as Cathal Naughton will in attack.
Meanwhile, the Cork delegation to Saturday’s Congress in Sligo will vote in favour of the Government Grants Scheme.
A vote to support the motion was carried by 67 to 47 at the last board meeting.
Two east Cork delegates, John Arnold and Denis Kelleher, opposed the motion, but Carrigdhoun delegate Willie Coleman supported and proposed the motion, which was then carried.
