McGeeney takes over as Kildare manager

Armagh's 2002 All-Ireland winning captain Kieran McGeeney was officially appointed as manager of the Kildare senior footballers at last night's meeting of the Kildare County Board.

Having only retired from inter-county football last month, McGeeney takes over the Lilywhites role from John Crofton, who resigned from the position in July following a disappointing championship campaign.
