Limerick captain to miss final
Limerick corner back and captain Damien Reale has been ruled out of contention for Sunday's Munster SHC final against Waterford (Semple Stadium, throw-in 4pm).
Reale was concussed early on in the Shannonsiders' semi-final replay win over Tipperary and failed a fitness test last night.
Reale's place in the team goes to Peter Lawlor who is drafted in at wing-back, with Mark O'Riordan taking over at right corner back. Centre-back Brian Geary will stand in as captain.
Manager Richie Bennis has also altered his attack with Barry Foley replacing Kevin Tobin at left corner forward.
Limerick will hope their top scorers in the championship so far - Andrew O'Shaughnessy (0-18) and Ollie Moran (0-12) - can continue their scoring form and guide the county to their first Munster title since 1996.
Sunday's game will mark Limerick's first championship clash with Waterford since 2003 when the Deise won a Munster semi-final replay by 1-12 to 0-13.
Limerick, who were involved in a three-game epic with Tipperary last month, last appeared in the Munster final in 2001 when they lost to Tipp.
