The draw for the first round of the Bank of Ireland All-Ireland SFC qualifiers will take place on Sunday week, June 24, the GAA have confirmed today.

The draw will be take place in the new stand at Pairc Sean Mac Diarmada, following the Connacht SFC semi-final between Leitrim and Galway, and will be televised live on RTÉ.

Some important points relating to the qualifiers include:

* If Offaly progress to the Leinster SFC final, they will no longer be eligible to participate in the Tommy Murphy Cup and will then play in round three of the football championship qualifiers. In this event, there will be a preliminary game in the qualifiers involving the first two drawn teams - this preliminary game will be played on Saturday, June 30.

* The qualifier draw will be on an open draw basis.

* Rounds one and two will be worked on a 'home venue' basis - the first drawn county shall have home advantage - provided that the home grounds are deemed to meet the criteria set down by the National Infrastructure and Safety Committee and the GAA's Central Competitions Control Committee (CCCC).

* Venues for round three will be determined by the CCCC.

* There are no designated counties in the football championship qualifiers.

Meanwhile, the date for the draw for the first round of the 2007 Tommy Murphy Cup has yet to be confirmed. It may also take place live on RTÉ television on June 24, but if not, the draw will be carried out by the CCCC at their meeting on June 25.

The Tommy Murphy Cup draw will be also done on an open draw basis, the first drawn county will have home advantage and there are no designated counties in the competition.
