Eugene Organ has earned a recall to the Donegal starting line-up for Saturday's Nicky Rackard Cup final against their Ulster rivals Derry at Croke Park (throw-in 2pm).

The St. Eunan's clubman returns to the side after impressing as a substitute in the 12-point semi-final victory over Longford.

Organ comes in at midfield for Peter Tooher, the player he replaced last time out, with team captain Colm Breathnach slotting in at centre forward.

Saturday's trip to Croke Park is the Donegal hurlers' first in 83 years.

Eamonn Campbell's side have done excellently to qualify for the final, with 13 different players on the scoresheet through their Rackard Cup campaign.

Campbell is an Antrim man who has been living in Donegal for over 20 years - his son Kevin is arguably the Tír Chonaill men's best player.

Donegal selector Danny Campbell senior said: "We really believe we have a great chance on Saturday. There is a great spirit in the camp and we have one of the best freetakers in the country in Kevin Campbell.

"With him in our team, we always have a chance of getting a decent score.”

There are five players in the line-up, including Campbell, from the Setanta club, the only exclusive hurling club in the county.

Wing forward Anthony McDaid is another member of the Setanta club and the oldest member of the side at 39 - he has been playing for Donegal since 1985, before corner forward Danny Cullen junior was even born!

DONEGAL (Rackard Cup v Derry) - G Grindle; M McGrath, C Dowds, J Callaghan; J Donnelly, A Begley, J McGee; M McCann, E Organ; K Campbell, C Breathnach (capt), A McDaid; D Cullen, G Dwyer, N Campbell.
