Nestor available for Meath minors
The Meath minors will be able to call on star forward Alan Nestor for Sunday week's All-Ireland MFC semi-final against Roscommon after he had a red card overturned.
The Blackhall ace scored 1-4 in the quarter-final defeat of Antrim, but was given a straight red card in extra-time for tussling with his marker.
Both parties were at fault, after a series of pushes, but Leitrim referee Eamonn O'Grady, on the advice of his linesman, only punished Nestor.
A meeting of the GAA's Central Disciplinary Committee last night saw the suspension handed down to the Meath corner forward quashed, meaning that he will be clear to play against Roscommon.
Video evidence from BBC Northern Ireland and the testimonial of former Donegal footballer Martin McHugh, who acted as an independent witness, helped clear Nestor of the charge.
The CDC also suspended Waterford wing forward Karl O'Keeffe for eight weeks due to an incident in his side's Tommy Murphy Cup defeat to Tipperary on July 22. Deise manager John Kiely was also handed down an eight-week ban from the date of the meeting.
Due to his sending-off in Longford's Nicky Rackard Cup semi-final defeat to Donegal on July 30, the midlanders' corner back Brendan Stakem was suspended for 12 weeks from the date of the game.
