Toyota Ireland today announced a two-year extension to its sponsorship with the GAA.

The company presents Toyota Corolla cars to the winners of the club championships, national leagues and the finalists in the football and hurling All-Ireland championships, which, to date, has generated €555,000 for players funds.

Other elements of the sponsorship include All-Star players receiving a discount on the purchase of a new Toyota during their term as an All-Star.

“We are very proud of our association with gaelic games and in particular the fact that we can continue to contribute to fund raising initiatives for players across Ireland,” said Toyota Ireland chairman Dr Tim Mahony.

“The effort and commitment of players in the modern game is immense and to go all the way in GAA competition deserves a huge amount of credit and recognition.”

Cumann Lúthchleas Gael president Nickey Brennan warmly welcomed the sponsorship extension.

“I am delighted that the Association was in a position to continue their relationship with Toyota,” he said. “The provision of cars to panels involved in major GAA finals has been a very successful innovation and the essential beneficiaries of this sponsorship agreement are the players.”
