Injury blow for Mayo's Brady
Ballina Stephenites clubman David Brady looks set to sit out the remainder of Mayo's Connacht SFC campaign after breaking a metatarsal bone in his foot.
The powerful midfielder damaged his foot during Mayo's recent training camp in Portugal and the injury flared up during a training session back on home soil last Sunday.
He had the metatarsal break confirmed at the Galway Clinic earlier this week. Currently with his foot in a cast, Brady has been ruled out of action for upwards of six weeks.
Brady was used as a substitute for Mayo's Connacht quarter-final win over London last month with captain David Heaney and Pat Harte manning the midfield.
For Sunday's Connacht SFC semi-final against Leitrim, Mayo manager Mickey Moran could call on the services of long-term injury worry Trevor Mortimer.
The Shrule/Glencorrib forward has not started a competitive game for his county since last August due to leg muscle tissue and groin injuries, but Moran has admitted that he may be used off the bench against Leitrim.
