Breheny acts as Sligo caretaker
Former St Mary's manager Tommy Breheny has assumed caretaker control of the Sligo senior footballers.
Breheny has taken the players for training, including last night's session, but is not thought to be in the running as a permanent successor to the axed Dom Corrigan.
Fermanagh native Corrigan became the first managerial casualty of 2006 when he was dismissed by the Sligo County Board on February 14.
Breheny, who led Mary's to a county SFC title in 2002, was drafted in as a selector under Corrigan last January but was forced to step down later in the season due to work and family commitments.
The Sligo County Board are due to confirm their new manager shortly with current Sligo IT boss Anthony Brennan thought to be a front runner.
A special three-man sub committee, comprising of county chairman John Murphy, John Clifford and Joe Taaffe, has been set up to explore the Yeats county's options.
