Limerick and Tipp finish deadlocked
Limerick 2-15 Tipperary 2-15
It was honours even at the Gaelic Grounds today as Tipperary captain Ger ‘Redser’ O’Grady grabbed a late goal.
A late point from Benny Dunne and O’Grady’s goal helped Tipp rescue a draw.
Limerick led 2-07 to 1-09 at the break – man-of-the-match Andrew O’Shaughnessy doubled brilliantly on a ground ball to fire in Limerick’s first goal. O’Grady teed-up Seamus Butler for Tipp’s goal, while Niall Moran also raised a green flag for Limerick.
Consecutive points from Mark Keane (0-02), Ollie Moran and Brian Begley strengthened the Limerick lead around the hour mark, but the visitors pounced late to level.
