Flynn in scoring streak for Waterford
Waterford 1-13 Wexford 0-14
Captain Paul Flynn led by example as he scored 1-07 in Waterford’s NHL Division 1A victory over Wexford.
Former All-Star Flynn lit up Fraher Field, scoring a goal and four points in the second half, to steer the Deise to victory in Dungarvan.
Wexford, helped by two early saves by goalkeeper Damien Fitzhenry, went in at the break with a 0-08 to 0-05 advantage. Midfielder Darren Stamp landed three points from play.
Having been off for a blood injury, Flynn returned to grab the decisive goal on 44 minutes. He beat Fitzhenry will a powerful shot off his left side.
