Waterford defender Fergal Hartley has retired from inter-county hurling - for the second time in two-and-a-half years.

The Ballygunner clubman, who initially called time on his career in July 2003 following the Deise's unexpected All-Ireland qualifier defeat by Wexford, feels he has no more to offer Justin McCarthy's side.
