Sean Boylan has resigned as Meath football manager after 23 years in charge of the county's senior team.

Sean Boylan has resigned as Meath football manager after 23 years in charge of the county's senior team.

The Dunboyne man informed Meath County Board of his decision last night.

The move paves the way for Eamonn Barry to become Meath's first new manager since 1982.

Boylan has led the county to four All-Ireland titles, three league wins and eight Leinster crowns.
