Monaghan's Rory could be out of the woods
Monaghan forward Rory Woods could be in line for his first start of the championship in Saturday's All-Ireland SFC fourth round qualifier against Tyrone.
Farney county boss Seamus McEnaney named his side last night for the Ulster derby and left a vacancy in the half-forward line that Woods may yet fill.
Donaghmoyne clubman Woods has served out the ban which saw him sidelined for three months for a kicking incident in April's NFL Division Two semi-final defeat of Derry.
McEnaney has admitted that two or three players, including Fergal Duffy, who slotted into the left half-forward berth last time out against Louth, are in line to fill the vacancy, but Woods - who notched seventeen points in the league campaign - is the noted favourite.
Meanwhile, McEnaney has made one definite change for the trip to Dublin - returning Tyholland defender Gary McQuaid replaces James Conlon at left half-back.
Monaghan won the sides' last championship clash. The Farney men claimed victory in the 1988 Ulster final, 1-10 to 0-11, when former GAA President Sean McCague was in the managerial hot seat.
