Melon, Mulligan vying for Red Hand role

Ryan Melon and Owen Mulligan are vying for inclusion in the Tyrone attack for Saturday's Ulster SFC final replay against Armagh.

The duo has so far played bit parts in the Red Hands' run to the Anglo-Celt Cup decider and with Colm McCullagh out with a broken hand, and Peter Canavan doubtful with rib and shoulder injuries, switches for this weekend may be forced on manager Mickey Harte.

Mulligan, a starter on the All-Ireland winning side of 2003, began Tyrone's opening Ulster ties against Down (0-3, all frees) and Cavan (0-1), but was back on the bench for the Cavan replay and drawn final clash against Armagh.

Moy attacker Melon, however, has yet to make a championship appearance.

McCullagh sustained a broken bone in his hand when lining out for Dromore in Sunday's league clash against Trillick, and is a definite non-starter.

Harte will be boosted by the availability of long-standing goalkeeper Pascal McConnell, who has been sidelined with injury since the drawn Cavan game.

Meanwhile, the bowls for this Sunday's All-Ireland SFC fourth round qualifier draw have been confirmed. The following are the teams to be featured:

Bowl A (Beaten provincial finalists): Mayo, Cork, Laois, Armagh or Tyrone.

Bowl B (Qualifiers): Cavan, Sligo, Monaghan, Derry.

There will be Connacht-Munster and Ulster-Leinster splits for the football quarter-finals, meaning newly-crowned Leinster champions Dublin are set to play the losers of the Ulster final or a qualifier winner in the last eight.

Teams who have already met in this year's provincial championships will also be kept apart in the quarter-finals.
