Cavan unchanged for neighbourly clash
Cavan's footballers will take to St Tiarnach's Park, Clones for tomorrow's All-Ireland qualifier clash with Meath, boasting an unchanged line-up.
Stand-in manager Martin McElkennon confirmed his side last night, and had his options for change restricted with star defender Paul Brady suspended and corner back Keith Fannin suffering from knee ligament damage.
Up front, McElkennon has stuck with the same forward unit that saw off Donegal by a point in the second round qualifier of two weeks ago. Much will depend again on the scoring form of Finbarr O'Reilly and Larry Reilly - who contributed 1-8 of the Breffni men's 1-11 last time out.
On the bench, Anthony Gaynor, a noted Under-21, returns after a three-month suspension, while Castlerahan prodigy Cian Mackey has been called into the panel following his excellent displays for the Cavan minors this season.
Meath have a number of injury worries and have delayed their team announcement.
This is the neighbouring counties' first championship meeting since the 1954 All-Ireland semi-final, which the Royals edged 1-5 to 0-7.
