Meath without Giles for Carrick trip
Three-time All-star Trevor Giles is still waiting for his first start of the 2005 championship - and it will not happen at Carrick-on-Shannon on Sunday.
The Skryne attacker has been ruled out of Meath's Bank of Ireland SFC second round qualifier against lowly Leitrim (throw-in 2.30pm) - the sides' first ever championship clash - with a shoulder injury.
The same strain that saw him miss the Royals' Leinster date with Dublin and their first round qualifier win over Antrim.
Selector Declan Mullen confirmed: "Trevor won't make Sunday. He's training away on his own, but hasn't taken part in a full contact session yet so this weekend is too soon for him."
Meath manager Sean Boylan could be without the services of experienced defenders Mark O'Reilly and Paddy Reynolds, after both shipped ankle injuries in training.
Ollie Murphy and Stephen Bray, who have both been affected by hamstring injuries of late, are expected to start up front for Boylan's charges.
Bray notched two goals in the opening 12 minutes of Meath's facile 5-12 to 0-13 defeat of Antrim two weeks ago.
Sunday's opponents Leitrim will be without young corner forward Donie Brennan, who is suffering with a damaged calf muscle.
