Qualter takes Westmeath hot seat
Seamus Qualter is set to take charge of Westmeath's hurlers following the departure of Tom Ryan as manager.
The outgoing selector will oversee the Lake County's preparations for the Christy Ring Cup, after Ryan resigned last Thursday night, along with selectors Pat O'Toole and Mick Cosgrove.
Ryan was understood to have been aggrieved at the low turnout at training, a problem he said was persistent.
Qualter stated his desire to remain involved with the panel and was appointed interim manager at a meeting of the Westmeath hurling board on Tuesday night.
