Dessie Dolan to have knee surgery

Leinster football champions Westmeath have been dealt a blow ahead of the defence of their crown with the news that attacker Dessie Dolan has to have surgery on a knee injury.

Dolan was one of a small number of players who performed well during the Lake County's disastrous league campaign, which culminated in them being relegated from the top flight.
