2002 All-Star Oisin McConville shook off a back injury to inspire Armagh champions Crossmaglen Rangers to their fourth AIB Ulster Senior football title today, in a 0-14 to 0-9 defeat of Mayobridge of Down.

The Orchard kingpins rode their luck at times at Casement Park, but McConville's haul of four second half points ultimately proved crucial.

So too the shackling of Mourne marksman Benny Coulter - who was kept to just three points.

Cross had Gareth O'Neill sent off just on the half hour, but rallied well against a 'Bridge side who saw player-manager Mickey Linden sidelined with injury after a tussle with Francie Bellew.

Cross led 0-8 to 0-5 at the break, and despite Noel Sexton and Benny Coutler's cousin Robbie tallying up their three-point tallies, the Down side failed to prevent Michael McConville's outfit for claiming their first provincial crown in five years.
