Fahey hangs up inter-county boots
Galway former All-Ireland-winning skipper Gary Fahey has announced his retirement from inter-county football.
The full-back cited constant of injury problems as his reason for hanging up his boots. The 32-year-old veteran won All-Ireland titles in 1998 and 2001.
New Galway manager Peter Ford admitted he was disappointed, but added he had been "half expecting it".
However, Ford has been boosted by the return to light training of Sean Óg de Paor, who missed this year's championship with a knee injury.
