Corrigan appointed Sligo football boss
Former Fermanagh boss Dominic Corrigan was unveiled last night as Sligo’s new football manager.
The Sligo county board ratified the Kinawley man's appointment at its meeting last night.
His selectors will be former player Paul Durcan, who took temporary charge this year, and Neil Egan, a selector with Sligo champions Tourlestrane.
Corrigan had been involved with Tyrone club side Carrickmore until Sunday, when they were sent out of the Ulster club championship by Down side Mayobridge.
Corrigan led Fermanagh to the National League semi-finals and an All-Ireland quarter-final in 2003. However, he stepped down as Erne County boss, citing his unhappiness with financial cutbacks. Charlie Mulgrew subsequently took charge of the county.
James Kearins resigned as Sligo manager in September when he refused to take charge of the team for the Tommy Murphy Cup competition.
Sligo's first competitive outing takes place in January when they play the Defence Forces in the FBD Connacht League.
