Cork strong favourites against Fermanagh
All-Ireland SFC qualifier Round 3
Cork v Fermanagh, Croke Park, 2pm.
Cork are overwhelming favourites against Fermanagh in today’s All-Ireland SFC qualifier clash at Croke Park.
However, the northerners are the proverbial dark horses, having disposed of Sean Boylan’s Meath in the last round.
Cork have made three changes from the side that defeated Clare in the last round for today’s tie.
Ciaran O’Sullivan, Sean Levis and Miceal O’Sullivan, who all came in as substitutes at Cusack Park, have been rewarded with the retention of their services.
They replace Dermot Hurley, Miceal O’Croinin and Brendan Jer O’Sullivan respectively. Levis is
selected at centre-back and Miceal O’Sullivan partners Graham Canty at midfield. Ciaran O’Sullivan replaces O'Croinin at centre-forward.
Nicholas Murphy goes from the centre of the park to right half-forward and Alan Cronin moves to left corner-forward.
There is no starting place for Anthony Lynch, who cracked his collarbone playing for Naomh Abán in a county championship game in mid-May, and missed the Munster semi-final defeat to Kerry and the ensuing qualifier with the Banner County.
Fermanagh boss Charlie Mulgrew has chosen Hugh Brady in his starting 15, but there is no place for Tom Brewster.
Brady was an injury doubt as he struggled to recover from a shoulder injury, but he takes up his customary corner-back berth, beside Barry Owens at full-back.
It had been hoped Brewster would recover sufficiently from his shoulder injury to make his return.
