Kerry and Limerick to fight another day
Kerry 1-10 Limerick 1-10
Kerry and Limerick will do it all again next weekend after a fractious Munster final clash ended in parity at the Gaelic Grounds.
Perhaps it's just as well too because in a poor game of football at the Limerick venue neither side truly deserved to win this game.
Both sides had their chances to win with Limerick on top for the most part and the underdogs hit the interval with a 1-7 to 1-4 advantage.
Limerick boss Liam Kearns expressed his dissatisfaction at the result afterwards but his side just couldn't pull away and that counted against them.
They led 1-6 to 1-1 after a brilliant start to the game that climaxed in Stephen Lavin's 25th minute goal.
It was more of the same tit for tat stuff after the break with Kerry eventually drawing back level at 1-9 a-piece by the hour mark with points from Dara Ó Cinnéide, Eoin Brosnan, Colm Cooper and goalscorer Mike Frank Russell.
It was everything to play for in the closing minutes then and Limerick felt they could do it when Jason Stokes put them a point ahead.
But it was just not their day with, Eoin Keating dropping three free kicks just short of the goalline and Russell ensured the tie will go to a replay with a late Kerry leveller.
