Dubs take their time to name football captain

Dublin will continue to leave their fans guessing about who the new county football captain will be, just a fortnight away from their championship opener.

The Blues will play either Offaly or Westmeath and as yet no-one has been pencilled in to take the captain's armband for that game.

Ciarán Whelan was captain during the league and boss Tommy Lyons will surely retain the Raheny giant as skipper, but the lack of an appointment is curious.
