GAA considers unique hotline for disgruntled managers
The GAA is considering cutting the media out of the loop by giving disgruntled managers a direct hotline to referees.
In the past, managers have opted to criticise referees through the media and the GAA is keen to keep the flak on the amateur whistle blowers to a minimum.
Inter-county managers met with referees recently and decided that the unprecedented course of action may be the best step forward.
The meeting was divided into two for both hurling and football and drew a large gathering.
It is envisaged that the hot-line system could even be adopted at the next Referees' Committee meeting.
