Limerick into semis
Limerick 0-15 Armagh 0-12
Limerick advanced to the Division One semi-finals of the Allianz National Football League for the first time in their history thanks to a deserved three- point victory over Armagh at the Gaelic Grounds.
A blistering start from Liam Kerins’ Limerick side propelled them into a 0-7 to 0-0 lead after 13 minutes.
However, 2002 All-Ireland champions Armagh hit back strongly before half time to trail by just four points, 0-11 to 0-7, at the break.
Wind-assisted Armagh hit the front mid-way through the second half and looked a good bet to go on and win the game.
However, four unanswered points from Limerick’s Maurice Horan, Stephen Kelly (2) and Eoin Keating ensured a famous victory for the home side.
