Cork draw with Dublin at Parnell Park

Dublin and Cork endured their second draws of the NFL Division 1A campaign, as a Senan Connell free, thirty seconds into injury time saw the home side come from behind to steal a point in a 0-9 to 0-9 result at Parnell Park.
Dublin were 0-2 to 0-7 down at the break, and without busy forward Jason Sherlock after the Na Fianna forward was sent off for a second bookable offence in first half injury time.
With the wind a major player, corner forward Colin Crowley and former Cork skipper Philip Clifford put the visitors 0-2 to no score in front after 13 minutes, as the Dubs ran up four early wides.
Goalkeeper Kevin O’Dwyer brought off a great save from a Shane Ryan goal shot on 9 minutes and it was Connell who opened the Dublin account from a placed ball in the 17th minute.
Carbery half forward Kevin McMahon, Clifford and two scores from late call-up Fionan Murray handed the visitors a five-point lead, with designated free-taker Kevin Golden notching a late second for Dublin.
Declan Lally pointed from play after the restart and Connell’s third point on 47 minutes closed the gap before Clifford and Liam Og O hEineachain exchanged scores at 0-9 to 0-7 on the hour mark.
Golden arched over a 64th minute free and Connell bent his fifth point over into the wind to send Dublin on their Tenerife break next Friday with six points from six games.
