Shannonsiders get off the mark
Offaly 1-6 Limerick 1-13
Pa Joe Whelehan's Limerick picked up their first win of the NHL with a comprehensive seven point victory over a disappointing Offaly side at Birr on Sunday.
Whelehan's side enjoyed a six point, 0-9 to 0-3, half-time lead played with the aid of a stiff breeze in the opening period.
Offaly threatened a revival briefly nine minutes into the second half with a Rory Hanniffy goal, however a well taken Donie Ryan goal seven minutes later sealed victory for an improving Limerick side.
