Clare keep on winning against gallant Dubs
Clare 3-13 Dublin 2-13
Clare collected their second brace of NHL points in Division 1A when they defeated Dublin at Cusack Park, Ennis.
Clare were favourites to win, but a competitive Dublin gave them a fright in the second half.
For 22 minutes in that second period, the Banner failed to register a score, and when Dublin centre forward Shane Martin goalled with five minutes remaining, the deficit was reduced to just 0-2.
But a pair of scores from Clare's Alan Markham rescued the Bannermen towards the end.
Earlier first half goals from full-forward Frank Lohan in the fourth minute and a Markham goal after 16 minutes emphasised Clare's early dominance.
Martin goalled for the Metropolitans six minutes before the break to leave Clare 2-8 to 1-6 ahead at the interval.
