Former Tipperary Allstar goalie and selector Ken Hogan has been installed as favourite to take over the Tipperary hurling position vacated by manager Michael Doyle following a hail of controversy earlier this month.

Hogan, who was a selector alongside Nicky English and Jack Bergin when Tipp landed the Liam McCarthy Cup in 2001, was over-looked last year when it came to finding a successor as manager to English.
