Mayo late late show reclaims title
Finbarr Egan’s Mayo claimed a fourth All-Ireland title in five years at Croke Park today relying on a short passing game and just one second half score to see off final first-timers Dublin at Croke Park.
And what a score – two minutes from full-time, and trailing by a point, player of the match and 1999 captain Diane O’Hora latched onto a high hanging ball spilled by Dublin goalkeeper Cliona O’Connor to volley Mayo into a lead they didn’t relinquish.
