The Gaelic Players Association has once again hit out at the GAA's plans to elect a rival players' body controlled by Croke Park and labelled the initiative "wholly undemocratic and underhand".

GPA chief executive Dessie Farrell released a statement slamming the move which read: "To claim that a haphazardly assembled committee with a Croke Park appointed chairman is democratic is misleading.
