Offaly boss upbeat despite defeat

Offaly manager Mike McNamara was keen to accentuate the positives despite defeat to Wexford at Nowlan Park on Sunday in the Leinster semi-final.

Offaly blew a seven point half-time lead to succumb to a one point defeat, but McNamara said: "We're a young side and we'll have learned so much from this game.

"We gave it our best shot and we came up a little short but it was still as good a performance as I have seen from an Offaly team since the glory days of the 1990s."
