Laois through to semi-finals

Laois 1-14 Kildare 1-9

Laois are through to the NFL semi-finals thanks to a comprehensive win over Kildare at Portlaoise.

Former Kildare manager Mick O'Dwyer moved across the border to drive the fortunes of the O'Moore men and has brought them through the league unbeaten.

Laois led by 0-6 to 0-0 at the end of the opening quarter. But gradually Kildare improved and at half-time Laois led 0-7 to 0-4.

But they produced a blistering display at the start of the second half. A brilliant goal by Michael Lawlor saw them lead by 10 points at one stage.

A late Kildare goal from Tadgh Fennin brought the Lilywhites back into the game. But late points from Damien Delaney restored the home side's advantage.
